Welcome to Mr. Stein's Class Website
This is my thirteenth year teaching in the primary division at W.R. Best. I believe that it is a great privilege and joy to spend so much time with your sons and daughters and I hope that they are able to sense that. We have a grade 1/2 class with 20 students ( 11 girls and 9 boys). My first goal is for all of my students to feel safe, secure and happy in our classroom. We start the year off by talking about our responsibilities and how we need to work as a team to make sure that our classroom is a place where we can all do our best learning. The students will become familiar with the six learning skills that you will see on all report cards. They are:
Responsibility
Initiative
Organization
Self-regulation
Independent Work
Collaboration
I appreciate your support and welcome open communication between home and school. Every morning the students follow the routine of opening their agenda books to the correct date and recording a message that is to be shared at home that night. I check each agenda book for messages from parents and initial the student writing. I encourage you to initial your child's writing each day as well. Any note's regarding appointments, absences, etc. can be written right in the agenda. Separate papers can be put in the clear front pocket of the agenda for safe delivery to the classroom. Thanks for your cooperation.
I look forward to working together to make your child's school year a great one!
